Sexting, Porn, and Online Dating, Oh My! Empowering Neurodivergent Teens and Adults in Safe Online Experiences – In Person Training

@ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
UW South Madison Partnership, 2238 South Park Street, Madison, WI 53713

Overview:

The internet can feel scary, and a caregiver’s response can often be to limit access to technology in an attempt to keep someone safe.  However, to move away from a protective model and toward an empowered model, we need to talk about these topics and support neurodivergent kids, teens, and adults in making safe decisions online for themselves.  Caregivers will learn about safe ways to explore use of technology in seeking pleasure or finding dating partners, how to respond to use of technology in empathetic and positive ways that do not create shame, moving away from use of punishment, and what to know about laws regarding these topics.
