Save My Skin
Tuesday, September 26, 2017 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Registration Fee: $30 (Reduced fee for Dane County Contracted Developmental Disability Support Providers: $15)
Keeping skin whole and healthy helps a person feel comfortable and prevents infection. When skin problems occur, severe infections can develop which are painful, life-threatening, or lead to amputation.
Learn what you can do to prevent clients from having skin problems such as open sores and rashes. Develop your knowledge of what to watch for and what to do when you see a possible problem. This is an interactive learning experience.
In this class you will learn about:
- Pressure ulcers
- Fungal infections such as yeast
- Shearing injuries
- Skin tears
- Boils
- Rashes
- Self-injury/skin picking
This class is particularly recommended for anyone who is providing direct care services to individuals with disabilities living in the community. WIN nurses who work and interact with clients and staff in their homes and other health care settings share information on how to improve nutrition, exercise and bowel health. Join us for a fun and interesting hands-on training!
