Overview:
This training contains practical information that is beneficial for ICs, case managers and direct support providers who support individuals with a dual diagnosis (developmental disability and mental health). Major concepts in the understanding and use of psychiatric medication is reviewed. Medication names, categories, beneficial effects, adverse effects, alternative medications, alternative therapies, and other aspects of psychiatric treatment are discussed.
There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and answers.
About the Presenter:
Steven Singer, M.D. has been practicing psychiatry in Wisconsin since 2001, and has extensive experience treating persons with developmental disabilities and provides psychiatric care and consultation to individuals with developmental disabilities through the Waisman Center Community TIES Clinic. Dr. Singer received his M.D. from Rush University in Chicago, and then completed his psychiatric residency at Brown University.
Please note this training is scheduled to be conducted in person at UW South Madison Partnership facility in the Villager Mall on Park Street.
